  • Copy of CNIC / NICOP of both witnesses

  • Get document signed by 2 witnesses (who are also Pakistani / dual nationals)
  • Sign and thumb impression on all pages in front of Consular Officer

For Public documents issued from Australia, prior attestation of the document by Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), Australia is a mandatory requirement.

Required Documents

  • Two copies of Application Form (Form-X), attested by the Justice of Peace (JP)
  • Passport size photographs, attested by JP, to be pasted on top right of both the copies
  • Four recent passport size photographs (2 x 11/2 inches) with white background (front view) attested at the back by JP
  • A copy of any of the following documents:
    • Assurance Letter
    • Naturalization Certificate
    • Citizenship Certificate
  • Two copies of data page of Foreign Passport, if available
  • Two copies of first four pages of latest Pakistani Passports
  • All original valid and expired Pakistani Passports
  • Two copies of CNIC / NICOP, both sides on one page
  • In case the CNIC / NICOP is not available, an affidavit stating that the applicant does not possess CNIC / NICOP and will provide complete address in Pakistan
  • A copy of any of the following documents:
    • CNIC / NICOP
    • Birth Certificate
    • Pakistani Passport of the minor children of the male applicant only, residing abroad
  • A copy of any of the following documents:
    • Marriage Certificate
    • Divorce Certificate of the female applicant, if Passport / NICOP bears ex-husband’s name

Note: The forms and supporting documents may be submitted to the Consulate in person or through mail / courier. The documents are scrutinized by the Consulate and forwarded to the Department of Immigration and Passports in Pakistan for processing and decision.

  • Processing Fee is AUD 15.00 (non-refundable).
  • Fee may be paid through Postal Money Order in favour of “Consulate General of Pakistan Sydney” or EFTPOS (bank charges apply) – all credit / debit cards, except American Express, are accepted.
  • No cash payment is accepted, and all payments are non-refundable.

Document Ready

  • Processing time is 4-6 months, and the Renunciation of Citizenship is directly dispatched by the Department of Immigration and Passports to the applicant.
  • On receipt of the Certificate, the applicant is required to apply online for cancellation of CNIC / NICOP at https://id.nadra.gov.pk/.
