General Information (Visa)
  1. We accept visa applications from Australia, Fiji and Permanent Residents living in New South Wales, Australia only. All others are required to apply for visa in their country of origin.
  2. Visa is liable to be cancelled if information on the Visa Form is withheld or found to be incorrect.
  3. Non-resident Australians should apply for Visa in their respective countries of residence.
  4. Visa processing time is 4-6 weeks. Delays however, can occur due to circumstances beyond our control, if additional documentation is required or where a reference has to be made to Pakistan.
  5. Visa Fees is non-refundable, charged per person, and is subject to periodic revision.

  2. Please attach two recent passport size  photographs (white background, showing full face, without hat, helmet or sunglasses, although you can wear everyday glasses)
  3. Please include the following with the Visa Form:
    • Original Passport along with photocopies of first 04 pages.
    • Additional documents according to your visa category.
    • A pre-paid, self-addressed registered / courier envelope, if you are sending application by post.

Note:  Appropriate Visa will only be issued if the Visa Officer is satisfied with the purpose of your visit.

Tourist Visa

  1. Duly signed Invitation Letter from Pakistan with complete contact details e.g. telephone number and address along with coloured valid CNIC copy (front and back) of sponsor in Pakistan.
  2. Copy of the return air ticket.
  3. Note: If the Visa Officer is satisfied with the purpose of your visit, then appropriate visa will be issued to a visitor/ tourist holding an Australian Passport.

Family Visa

Copy of valid Pakistani Passport/CNIC or any other document to establish Pakistan origin.

Business Visa

  1. Original letter of recommendation of Chamber of Commerce in Pakistan if you are applying for 3 months visa or above.
  2. Letter of Invitation from the company/related industry in Pakistan.
  3. Reference letter from your Company on its letter head, attested by the Chamber of Commerce or Trade agency of Australia.
  4. Personal Bank Statement of last six months, duly signed and stamped by the Bank.

Journalist / Media Person

  1. Letter from the employer detailing the purpose of the visit.
  2. Small summary of assignment to be undertaken in Pakistan.
  3. Included places of visit in Pakistan.

NGO's Work Visa

  1. Introductory letter from the employer in Australia outlining the purpose
  2. An invitation letter from the NGO concerned, based in Pakistan
  3. Copy of the NOC and Registration Letter issued by the Ministry of Interior, Government of Pakistan
  4. Prior Clearance from the Ministry of Interior, Government of Pakistan which would entail additional processing time.

Pilgrimage Visa

  1. Visa Application is required to be routed through Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Lahore, Pakistan.
  2. Alternatively, you can submit Sponsorship Letter from both Sikh Associations in Pakistan and in Australia along with the details of places intended to be visited.
  3. Complete Travel Itinerary of the visit

Work Visa

  1. Work visas are processed by the Board of Investment, Government of Pakistan
  2. Sponsor registered in Pakistan is required to apply for your work visa

Visa for Minors

  1. Both parent's consent duly attested by J.P
  2. Copies of the parents' passports

Visa Application on Travel Document

  1. Reference / attestation inter-alia of invitees / address in Pakistan.
  2. Verification of address may be attested by a Pakistani Gazetted Officer, Notary Public etc

  2. Copy of valid CNIC or Pakistani Passport of the Spouse
  3. In case of Indian origin, Invitation letter from the in laws is also required along with the copies of their CNICs / Passports

Indian Nationals

  1. Indian passport holders with resident status of Australia have to fill four visa application forms meant exclusively for them.
  2. Provide four coloured passport size photographs.
  3. Original signatures on each form.
  4. Applicants should give complete verifiable addresses of the relatives / sponsors in Pakistan.
  5. Application should in particular indicate port of entry as well as details of previous visits to Pakistan, if any. 
  6. If applicant had visited Pakistan earlier, copies of the previous visas issued may be enclosed.

Afghan Nationals / Origin

Frequently Asked Questions (Visa)

As long you have your Valid Pakistani Passport or NICOP you can travel to Pakistan without visa. Otherwise you need to get a visa from us on your Australian Passport. Smart Chip Card cannot be considered as NICOP. For further information about the procedure, Fee and documents required for obtaining visa please visit our website http://pakistan.org.au/visas.php

Currently, we are not accepting electronic applications.You can post all the relevant documents with a self addressed return envelope. Visa Fee is to be paid in the form of money order or bank draft in the name of the "Consulate General of Pakistan" if you are posting your documents.

Yes. You are required to get visa for a minor / child to travel to Pakistan.

Yes. You are required to get visa for a new born baby to travel to Pakistan

Birth Registration of a child with the Consulate is neither a substitute for visa nor passport. Parents can either obtain Pakistani passport for their child or they can seek visa on Australian passport of the child.

Following are the requirements:

  1. Copy of your valid visa in Australia.
  2. Letter of invitation from Pakistan along with the telephone number and address of your sponsor in Pakistan.
  3. Colour photocopy of CNIC of the sponsor (both front and back).
  4. If you do not have a sponsor then we need your travel itinerary with the hotel reservation confirmation in Pakistan.  

Afghan origin applicants / nationals need to submit following documents along with their visa application form (duly filled in and signed):

  1. Copies of passport (first four pages)
  2. Visa Grant Notice in case of Afghan passport
  3. Invitation letter from Pakistan
  4. Colour copy of Pakistani ID (both sides) of invitee / sponsor
  5. Copy of any utility bill (electricity or gas), having same address as on Pakistani ID of invitee / sponsor
  6. Self-addressed return envelope.

Following documents are required:

  1. Copy of your marriage certificate
  2. Copy of your Pakistani CNIC /Passport
  3. Your family’s invitation letter along with copies of their Pakistani CNIC / Passport.

To apply for the spouse visa for Pakistan, we need the copies of your marriage certificate, the copy of your spouse’s Pakistani CNIC /Passport, your in-laws invitation letter along with their Pakistani CNIC / Passport copies.

You would need to route your Pilgrimage visa application through Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), Lahore in Pakistan for the grant of pilgrimage visa OR You would need to submit sponsor letters from both Sikh Associations in Pakistan and in Australia sponsoring your visit along with the details of places you would stay and your complete itinerary.

You travel to Pakistan (your home country) on this minimum validity but cannot come back to Australia. For international travel, your passport must be valid for at least six months.

Please check your airline about the validity of AUSTRALIAN passport. As far as your entry into Pakistan is concerned, you can enter into your homeland on a valid Pakistani Passport or NICOP. 

If you are residing on a substantive Australian visa (not a visit visa), we may consider your application provided you fulfill all other requirements relevant to the category of application
