Frequently Asked Questions (Power of Attorney)

In case of Australian documents they need to be attested from DFAT in the state concerned before sending it to us. The attestation from the DFAT will have to be first initialed by the concerned JP / Notary Public who attests the signature of the Executants. Fee has to be paid in the form of money order or bank draft in the name of the Consulate if you are sending your documents to Sydney. If you are posting your documents please send with a self addressed return envelope. Photographs of the executants and witnesses must also be affixed on the Power of Attorney. For further information regarding procedure, fee etc please visit http://pakistan.org.au/Power_attorney.php.

The Power of Attorney has to be prepared by the applicant and has to be signed in front of the Consular Officer. Physical presence of the executants is mandatory for POA / affidavit attestation.

We cannot cancel POA executed by any person. However, you can give a statement in the Consulate stating that you want to revoke the POA given earlier by you to your father. We can then attest your signatures on that statement like routine Affidavit/statement/POA. However, you are strongly recommended to seek proper Legal Advice regarding preparation of document for the revocation of Power of attorney.

For the correction in spelling in the name, etc. (if any) you will have to do it with pen and initial over it. The correction will have to be initialled by the JP / Notary Public who attests the signature of the Executants of the PoA. All this is for those who can't come to the Consulate.

Yes. Photographs of the executants be affixed on the Power of Attorney.

We do not offer any such service here at the Consulate General for driving licence renewal.

If you cannot follow the procedure mentioned on our website then the only other way is the Consulate writing to the driving license issuing authorities in Pakistan for verification of your driving license.
